I still think the team we put out yesterday was completely wrong, glad we got the points but why try and win the game in the last 25 minutes when you have 90 minutes to win a game. Good points Centre of defence, looked solid but had little to do. Painter, solid debut. Centre midfield, well done to Butt and Clemence that needs to stay the same. Bad Points Tebs at right back, disaster waiting to happen DJ on the right of midfield, never goes past the defender. Stan left of midfield, no longer got the legs for the prem. Playing Heskey up front on his own at home, he comes wide to get the ball leaving nobody in the centre. Team for man C IMO Vassen DJ-Kenny-Upson-Painter Pennant-Butt-Clem-Dunn Heskey-Pandiani or JJ |

Just seen the game for the 1st time, and yeah we played better on monday (and lost - thats football i suppose). We were lucky Fulham were so poor because 1st half we were really poor. 2nd half we were a whole load better and there's lots of positives. Heskey and Butt summed up what we need from now until May. Butt's willingness to make sure we got the points was the difference. |

Glad about the result, but I have to disagree with the assertion that we have got where we are because quality failed us. We are where we are because we have never played with enough quality in the first place - i.e pedestrian midfields against the Vile, amongst others. Against Man C if we DO play Clem and Butt in midfield, then we must have Dunn and Pennant on the wings (DJ right back) and two up front. We were lucky on Saturday, and the type of football we aplyed will not get us very far in the long run. |
